This site is dedicated to the memory of Ken Roberts.

My Husband Ken was born in West Ham London, and as a young man worked as a heating and ventilator engineer and this is how he came into to contact with asbestos. Like many others he was unaware of the dangers. In his late twenties he retrained as a civil engineer and continued as a highway engineer until his retirement in February 2008, due to ill health. Ken started to feel unwell whilst on holiday in May 2007 and following several visits to the hospital Mesothelioma was diagnosed in the September, with the usual prognosis of six to nine months, but lived for just over two years. Without the help and support of the charities specifically for this cancer we would have not have been able to get through this awful time. I feel honoured to be able to support the good work done by MKMRF through this fund set up in Ken’s memory. The money from the Snowdrop Fund supports the work of the Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Fund.
